Well, the first week of summer vacation has given me a little less time to play with tangles than I'd like, plus I've been nursing a migraine for the past three days which isn't exactly conducive to creativity either. But Bug went off and spent the night at a friend's on Monday and left me all day yesterday in quiet solitude and I couldn't waste that time just laying on the couch. I pulled out my sketchbook and pens and got to tangling.
The Diva's challenge this week is to use eccentric (not at or in the center, not perfectly circular, an eccentric or elliptical orbit having a different center) circles for your string, or guideline. This is what I came up with:
My sister-in-law suggested a while back to use the peace symbol for a string, and I just had to throw a heart into the middle of it for Peace 'n Love:
I'd like to try this one again with different patterns. |
Hoping today will be the last of this migraine misery so I can get more done around the house and in my sketchbook...Thanks for stopping by!
Lovely!!...All three are stunning...

Oh Dawn, thank you for sharing all three of your gorgeous pieces. I know they aren't all for the challenge but the one that is, is so fantastic! Wow I love how you have created shine and beauty!
ReplyDeleteI love your spirals! That white highlight really adds depth, and makes it seem almost glossy. Did you go over the black pen with a white pencil? I like that effect.
ReplyDeleteI use a white Pentel Sunburst gel pen for the highlights but I'd like to get the Sakura white pens...something to look forward to! =0)
ReplyDeletei love the red paisleys in the first tile - the lacing in the second - and the pattern on that spiral (which i could never do) in the third one - you were some kind of busy while Bug was gone! haha! lovely work!
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful - but I love the spiral!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous as always !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love your work...all of it!
